During the time that Loki was transformed into a child, he had to leave his Hel-Wolf with Garm, the guardian of Hel. During that time, Hel-Wolf sired a litter of seven pups. The other six pups inherited their mother’s dutiful and loyal nature while Thori inherited the vicious and feral temperament of his father.
Garm gifts all the pups to Loki because she does not have the time to raise them with her guard duties. The All-Mothers order Loki to find new homes for the pups, not entrusting them to the young trickster. Leah and Loki travel the realms to gift pups to Mephisto, Gaea, Warlock, Heimdall, Tyr and an animal shelter on Midgard. Thori is the one pup that Loki cannot find a home for and the All-Mothers order him destroyed. Loki sees a bit of himself in the feral dog and keeps him as a pet, giving him the name Thori.
Though Loki loves the pup, Thori remains cantankerous. He tries to get Daimon Hellstrom to adopt him, though the Son of Satan declines. When Loki is trapped in Mulspelheim, Thori volunters to distract his father. Instead, Thori leads Hel-Wolf directly to Loki and remains with his father after Loki leaves.
Thori battles alongside Hela, Hel-Wolf and the Disir against Angela for the soul of Sera and control of Hel. When Angela is victorious and abdicates the throne, Angela, Sera and Leah bring Thori to Brooklyn, much to his dismay. Leah eventually leaves and takes Thori with her, though he ultimately ends up in the Collector’s collection through unknown means. When Thor arrives to claim Ultimate Mjolnir, he frees Thori and the dog remains by the Odinson’s side.
Thori helps Thor and Toothgrinder battle Sindr in Niffleheim. Thori also helps Toothgrinder and Aragron later rescue Thor, Valkyrie and Angela from the Prison of Angels. During the War of the Realms, Thori joins Balder and Spider-Man in guarding the infant Laussa.
