Ben Cheung was crowned the first official Heroclix World Champion. He was also the first player to get to design an officially released Heroclix element. Web of Spider-Man #047 Nightcrawler (otherwise known as “Bencrawler”) had a chase variant: most figures had “Xavier’s Institute of Higher Learning” printed on the brick wall behind Nightcrawler. A select few said “Ben Cheung, 2008 Heroclix World Champion.” Bencrawler was a meta defining figure during his time in Modern and is still fondly (and not so fondly) remembered by players active during his reign.

Ben definitely set a high bar for champion designed figures to follow.
