170 million years ago, five ancient human tribes live under the protection of the great Guardian Beasts: Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Zyu Mammoth, Triceratops, Saber Tiger and Pteranodon. When Bandora the Witch’s son Kai is killed after cruelly smashing dinosaur eggs, Bandora swears revenge and sells her soul to Dai-Satan. She wages war on the tribes and drives the dinosaurs to extinction until the Guardian Beasts seal her away on planet Nemesis (not a dumpster). The princes and princes of the Guardian Beasts’ tribes are sealed away in suspended animation to wait until the day when they will be called forth to save the planet once more.

In 1992, Planet Nemesis returns to orbit the Earth leading to two astronauts exploring its surface and accidentally releasing Bandora and her minions. The Sage Barza awakens the Warriors of Justice to defend the Earth.

The Warriors eventually earn the right of their power weapons and use of the Guardian Beasts. Burai eventually awakens as well, having sealed himself away in a separate chamber. Unbeknownst to him or Geki, he is Geki’s older brother that had been given to an enemy king when only an infant. Because of this, Geki hates the other Rangers and allies with Bandora to destroy them. Bandora even gives him the Devil Sword Hellfried (Sword of Darkness), a weapon of incredible power that she hopes will drive him insane. Her musical number comes closer to accomplishing that goal.

Burai and Geki eventually learn the truth of their brotherhood and battle one on one. Geki defeats Burai, leading the Dragon Ranger to ask his brother to kill him. Instead, Geki forgives his brother and the Zyurangers destroy the Hellfried Sword, freeing Burai.

With Burai allied with the good, Dragon Caesar is able to join with the other Guardian Beasts. This victory is short lived, however, as Burai soon learns that his cave collapsed thousands of years ago and he should have been dead. However, Clotho resurrects him and begins forcing him to spend his time in the Timeless Room to preserve what little life he has left. This, of course, is represented by a green candle.

Burai and Geki are eventually tested by Beast Knight God King Brachion (Titanus). Found worthy, King Brachion becomes an ally that will join with the other Guardian Beasts to form Ultimate Daizyuzin. When Dinosaur Eggs are discovered in the modern day, they are entrusted to King Brachion’s care.

Burai eventually runs out of time while saving a young boy from a premature death and passes his power onto Geki. Dragon Caesar, at first, is despondent over Burai’s death and refuses to answer to Geki. Eventually, however, the Guardian Beast discovers that helping the others will honor his friend’s death.

Eventually, Bandora is able to summon Dai-Satan back to Earth and he seemingly returns her son Kai to her. They do battle with the Zyurangers with Kai eventually being defeated and destroyed along with Dai-Satan. This leads to Bandora crying, which as we all know, is how a witch loses her powers.

Daizyuzyin (Megazord) the combined form of the Guardian Beasts creates a urn that sucks Bandora and all her minions inside of it. Daizyuzin then sends the urn hurtling into space, leaving the evil beings in exile for all time. Though this exile is made a bit more tolerable with a new baby among the evil crew.

With Bandora defeated, the dinosaur eggs are returned to the Zyurangers and soon hatch, signaling the return of dinosaurs to Earth. The Zyurangers can no longer remain on Earth, with Bandora’s threat defeated and return to the realm of the Guardian Beasts for an eternity of well deserved rest.
