Morro is a long lived nomad from a desert planet in the infamous Space Sector 666, born after the massacre. His tribe was called The Relentless, as they would march for weeks without food or water; if one of their own fell due to exhaustion, they would be left to the sands of the desert. They moved only during the day, locking themselves away in their tents as great beasts hunted during the night.

One fateful night, Morro awoke to find his brother, Marrg, gone from their tent with the flap left open. When Morro investigated his brother’s disappearance, he found an adult drature (a dragon like being) flying off with what appeared to be blood on its mouth. Morro followed the creature to its nest near sunrise and killed it in revenge for his brother. After the death of the great beast, Morro discovered, to his horror, four baby dratures with fruit near them. A fruit that had juice which looked very much like the blood of his people.

When Morro returned to his camp site, he found that the tribe had awoken and moved on without him. In trying to track them, he found his brother collapsed from the heat. Morro discovered that his brother had gone to look for him as well. Remorseful for his actions, Morro adopted the four young dratures and protected them during the day as they watched over him and his brother during the night. His brother eventually passed away in his sleep and only a few months later, a Green Lantern ring came to induct him into the Corps.

Because of his tribe’s views on the dead and Morro’s unique opposition to them (believing the dead should be honored and remembered) Morro volunteered for the role of crypt keeper of the Corps. Though this role has not kept him from battle, as he tried to defend the Crypts of Oa from black power rings and, failing that, defended Oa itself from the Black Lanterns.
