Krang is an Utrom conqueror from Dimension X with a loyal legion of rock soldiers. While in Dimension X, Drakus builds the war machine known as the Technodrome for Krang and is rewarded with banishment to Earth. Through some unknown circumstances Krang and the Technodrome are banished from Dimension X to Earth, with Krang’s original body also being destroyed in the process. Oroku Saki finds the fortress and allies himself with Krang. Krang will supply Shredder with advanced technology, such as the robotic Foot soldiers, and Shredder will help Krang build himself a new body.

Shredder puts off helping Krang assemble his new body as long as possible, fearing that Krang may betray him the second he is empowered with a body again. However, the new challenge of the Turtles forces Shredder’s hand and Krang is returned to his warlord glory, instantly dreaming of bringing his army of rock soldiers to Earth. He is able to grow his body to a massive size and is only defeated once the Turtles are able to destroy the size changing gem inside his body. Overwhelmed, Krang and the Shredder return to the Technodrome to plot future schemes. Over the ensuing years, the Technodrome would be sucked through its own portal back to Dimension X before returning to Earth and acting as a mobile gateway for warriors from Krang’s home dimesnion.

The Turtles are finally able to damage the Technodrome enough to strand it in Dimension X without Shredder or Krang present to repair it. This also leaves Krang separated from his android body and forced to use his bubble walker to get around. Shredder and Krang continue to scheme and try to return to their glory but are soon overshadowed by Lord Dregg. Dregg eventually drafts the pair into his schemes, only to betray them. While Shredder is able to rescue Krang, the pair end up banished back to Dimension X.

Some time later, Krang and Shredder are able to return to Earth with an operational Technodrome (or perhaps this happened before their exile) and manage to perfect interdimensional travel, traveling to another dimension in the multiverse. They locate and resurrect Ch’rell, the Utrom Shredder, only for him to quickly take over their operations. He upgrades the Foot soldier robots, builds himself a new robot body and becomes determined to destroy the prime Turtles universe, thereby destroying the Ninja Turtles in every reality. Ch’rell is able to grow to a massive size and Krang, now fighting alongside the Turtles with Shredder, does the same to save all of reality. When Ch’rell is defeated, Krang, Shredder and their dimensions Turtles all return to their home dimension.

Krang later appears again in a new dimension with a new plan. It is revealed that Dimension X is a connective tissue between all the multiverse and that Krang is in fact one of the Kraang type of Utroms, banished to the second dimension for gross incompetence by his “cousin” Kraang Sub-Prime. Krang is determined to get back in the Kraang’s good graces by destroying the Turtles from his dimension, the Prime dimension and the Turtles battling the Kraang. The combined Turtles are able to overcome Krang and reveal his scheme to Kraang Sub-Prime. Sub-Prime is outraged that Krang would attempt to destroy these realities that the Kraang have been trying to mutate for millenia and banishes back to the second dimension.
