Before his life of adventuring alongside Booster Gold, Skeets is a simple BX9 security robot in a museum in future Metropolis. Booster and the bot escape to the past with 50 years of news headlines that Booster uses to become rich and famous. Booster even joins the Justice League, led by Maxwell Lord, leaving poor Skeets to collect dust and surf the internet in storage.

After Booster’s power suit is badly damaged by Doomsday, Skeets returns to action and attempts to help repair it. Although this fails, Blue Beetle finds another use for Skeets. Beetle downloads Skeets into an Exorian Flesh Driver suit. Here he can help Booster in battle both as an advisor and in cases of distress, by actually piloting the armor himself! Booster eventually abandons the suit in favor of a new power suit, returning Skeets to his small robot body.

Maxwell Lord destroys Skeets and uses his parts in a plot to kill Blue Beetle. This leads a distraught Booster Gold to return “home.” Soon after, Booster reappears with a new Skeets on the Moon after the destruction of the Watchtower by Superboy-Prime. Together they search for the Blue Beetle scarab and eventually aid the other heroes in destroying Brother Eye.

Skeets and Booster return to their mission of making Booster famous, only for Skeets future memories to be imperfect. Booster has Skeets inspected by Will Magnus, who says that Skeets seems fine. Skeets suggests that if someone is tampering with the time stream, it would affect his memory banks. The pair attempt to locate Rip Hunter for help but are unable to find him. After a public smear campaign against Booster, Skeets convinces his friend to dedicate himself to finding out what is going wrong.

Weeks later, Booster is killed saving Metropolis from an exploding nuclear submarine. As his funeral, Skeets enlists the aid of Booster’s ancestor to regain access to Rip Hunter’s lab. Once there, Skeets sends the young man hurling out of control through the time stream. Through a series of convoluted events, Booster is reunited with Skeets and Rip Hunter and the trio travel to the Rocky Mountains headquarters of T.O. Morrow. Once there, Skeets begins to violently shake, revealing that he had been acting as a cocoon for Mister Mind. Morrow, Booster and Rip escape from the emerging celestial butterfly.

Rip explains to Booster and Morrow how the condensed universe from the Infinite Crisis had been spawning a new multiverse. And Mister Mind has been feeding on this Earth’s history, changing the time stream with each flap of his wings. Recruiting Supernova, the heroes are able to trap Mister Mind and Skeets in a 52 second time loop forever.

While mourning the loss of yet another friend, Booster finds out that Skeets had backed up his consciousness and just needs a new body to return, without the Venusian villain.
