Claire’s first brush with superheroes comes after a chance meeting with Luke Cage. Luke has just been shot by goons sent by Diamondback and stumbles into the clinic that Claire runs with Dr. Noah Burstein. She is shocked to find that Luke is only bruised by the bullets and then subsequently kidnapped by Diamondback. Luke rescues Claire who then corroborates the hero’s story to the police. The two begin dating after this.
Their relationship is anything but boring as they continue to be attacked by villains. Claire’s associate Dr. Burstein even keeps Cage’s criminal past from Ms. Temple. Claire is even temporarily framed for a murder only for Cage to help exonerate her. Claire eventually learns of Cage’s past and even when he is exonerated, the stress of the hero lifestyle becomes too much for her and she leaves Luke.
Though they are no longer romantically involved, Claire continues to help Luke and his friends when they have hero related medical issues. She continues to gain renown among the hero community and helps other heroes such as Spider-Man and Misty Knight.
When Sam Wilson takes on the mantle of Captain America and is transformed into a werewolf, Claire helps treat him. She remains in Manhattan when it is covered in a Darkforce energy field to help those that are injured and ill.
