“The boy was admitted into juvenile diversionary program after being charged with desecration of a venerated object stemming. He posted a picture of himself performing lewd acts on a statue of Jesus Christ that was outside the Love in the Name of Christ church in Everett on July 20.”
No damage was done to the statue. He was not charged with trespassing. He didn’t even (seem) to do it in front of parishioners.
This isn’t a case about religious rights. This is a case of free speech. And whether anyone likes it or not, that young man’s free speech was infringed upon.
And I will say this: according to the story, the Church did not want to press charges. It was the District Attorney that wanted to make an example out of this young man.
So: there’s your government taking away your rights.

Avengers World has been a weird series. In this issue, we get the second (maybe third by now?) appearance of Euroforce. A new team created for the series. And in this issue we get all the origins of the team members.
After they’ve already been fighting for a few issues.
I like the series, I do. I like what it seems to be going for.
