Little is known of Man Mountain Marko before he becomes an enforcer for the mobster Silvermane. When Silverman steals an ancient tablet, Marko is there and attacks Dr. Connors when the enforcer believes the doctor has killed Silvermane. Spider-Man is there to save Connors and defeat Marko.

Marko later robs the Debutante Ball of Millie Hogarth. Unfortunately, Millie’s father knows Power Man and Iron Fist who arrive to defeat the criminals. Marko later tries to get some measure of revenge by helping Caesar Cicero’s men attack Luke Cage, but is ultimately defeated.

Marko and Spider-Man run into one another again when the Maggia enhance Marko’s strength and supply him with steroids. Spider-Man is told that Marko has kidnapped a child but when he confronts the villain, it turns out the kid just admired Marko’s strength and wanted to be like him. Marko is later sent after Jessica Jones, who easily defeats him.

Marko later becomes a singer with a small amount of fame, with all his songs focused on violence against female super heroes. He becomes violent while on a plane with Dazzler and is easily subdued by the mutant singer. Marko is later employed by Norman Osborn, while Norman is running HAMMER, to infiltrate an Atlas facility run by Jimmy Woo. While there, Marko is seemingly eaten by a sentient dragon named Lao.

Somehow, Marko survives being eaten by a dragon and is hired to be a part of the Sinister Sixteen. He is abandoned by Boomerang and seeks his revenge, only to be defeated by the Superior Six team of Boomerang, Beetle, Speed Demon and Overdrive.

Marko is later hired by Lorraine Monroe to guard Tempest Monroe, the comatose fiancée of Spider-Man 2099. Miguel distracts Marko while Parker Industries relocates Tempest and nearly beats the villain to death. After Spider-Man leaves Marko, the thug is recovered by the Fist, a splinter group of the Hand, and healed and physically enhanced even more.

Marko later helps Speed Demon rob a pawn shop and manages to escape, while Speed Demon is detained by Captain America.

Marko later appears in the prison, Myrmidon. 8-Ball tells Moon Knight that Marko is the “king of the cage” in the prison. Moon Knight proceeds to beat Marko into surrender as well as temporarily blinding him until Thunderbolts agents arrive to capture him.
