He never worked in comics. He wasn’t a cartoonist or visual artist. For years, he even resented his time as Batman.

But when I was young, he was just as much my Batman as Kevin Conroy. And I even got to watch him be Batman’s childhood hero (as pictured above, the Gray Ghost).

He was a great actor and learned to be okay with his place in the world. And so I mark his passing.
